Find the Right Merino & Co Belt Size for Your Pants

Merino & Co belts are sized for a mid-rise fit. Measure your waist at midrise (just below navel)—then adjust belt size up or down if you consistently wear high- or low-rise pants. The guide below shows how to find your measurement and choose the correct size.

How to Measure Your Waist for a Belt:
Use a soft measuring tape around your waist, or wrap a thin, firm strap end to end at the spot your belt will sit. Lay the strap flat and use a construction tape to measure the length.

Rounding Tips:
If your measurement falls between inches, round to the nearest whole inch:

  • 38 ¼" → 38
  • 38 ¾" → 39

How Pant Rise Affects Belt Sizing

1. High-Rise Pants (at or above the belly button)
These sit at the narrowest part of your torso. You’ll likely need a smaller belt size than your mid-rise size.
Example: If you wear a 32 in mid-rise, you’ll likely need a 30 for high-rise.

2. Mid-Rise Pants (just below the belly button) — Standard Fit
This is the default fit for all Merino & Co belts. Measure here for your true belt size.
Your mid-rise pant size typically matches your Merino & Co belt size.

3. Low-Rise Pants (3 fingers below the belly button)
These sit lower on the hips, where your body is wider. You’ll likely need a larger belt size.
Example: If you wear a 32 in mid-rise, consider a 34 for low-rise.
